  1. The Average Person has between 1,460 and 2,190 dreams a year. During a typical lifetime, people spend an average of six years dreaming! People over the age of 10 have 4 to 6 dreams every night. Of course, you might find it incredulous. The fact of the matter is you forget about 95% to 99% of all the dreams you have. That may seem kind of high, but most of your dreams don't really interest you enough to make you want to remember them. dream0 2. Not all dreams are in color. According to a study published in 2008, people under the age of 25 reported rarely ever dreaming in black and white, while those over 55 claimed to dream in monochrome about a quarter of the time. Roughly 12% of people dream in black and white. dream2 3. You see faces you already know. The human mind cannot invent the images of people. So the strangers that you have seen in your dreams are actually people that you have seen in real life but forgotten, like the old man seating in the bus next you or someone you bumped into on the sidewalk at some time. download   4. You can control your dreams. A lucid dream is one in which you are aware that you are dreaming even though you are still asleep. You are conscious that you’re dreaming, but your brain is still in a state of sleep. Approximately 50% of people have experienced a lucid dream in their life, though the amount of people who experience lucid dreams on a regular basis is significantly lower. dream4 5. When your dream, your body is paralyzed.REM sleep, the stage of sleep during which dreaming occurs, is characterized by paralysis of the voluntary muscles. The phenomenon is known as REM atonia and prevents you from acting out your dreams while you're asleep. Basically, because motor neurons are not stimulated, your body does not move. In some cases, this paralysis can even carry over into the waking state for as long as ten minutes, a condition known as sleep paralysis. dream1 6. Dreams tend to be more negative than positive. Some reported emotions felt during dreaming are anger, sadness and fear. The most common emotion experienced in dreams was anxiety, and negative emotions in general were much more common than positive ones. dream3 7. Brain activity increases during dreams. You might associate sleeping with peace and quiet but when you dream, your brain becomes more active than it is during the day.
