Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national-level computer-based management entrance test, conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). CMAT 2017 dates have been declared and two people have scored perfect 100.The exam was held on January 28, 2017. CMAT 2017 registrations closed on December 25, 2016. Earlier, the last date to register for the exam was December 10, 2016 and the same has been extended by 5 days.

The CMAT is a three hour online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges. DTE Maharashtra has announced, CMAT as mandatory for student under AI (All India) quota for admissions to Maharashtra colleges. CMAT was earlier held twice in a year – February and September. It will now be held once a year due to various reasons. The eligibility for CMAT is that the aspirant should be a graduate in any course. Final year students can also apply for CMAT, provided that the results are declared before the commencement of admission for the current academic year. There is no age limit and the candidate must be a citizen of India. The registrations for the year 2017 are closed and for the 2018 year, the registrations will begin in October, interested candidates can keep an eye on the official website once in a while for the notification.  While filling up application form, aspirants need to select dates and three cities (test venues) for online examination in the order of preference. Thereafter, candidates will be allotted dates and test centres on “first come first served” basis. Actual allotment, however, will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city.

The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline

Final year students of graduate courses (10+2+3) are also eligible for CMAT, provided the results are declared before commencement of admission for 2017

There’s no age limit set for the candidates for CMAT

The candidate must be a citizen of India

Exam Pattern

CMAT exam goes on for 180 minutes. The test consists of hundred questions divided in four sections: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. There’s negative marking of one (1) mark for each wrong answer.

Test fees for General and OBC candidates is Rs 1400 + Bank charges, while for SC/ST/PD candidates it is Rs 700 + Bank charges.
